For the Second Year of Community Driven Development Project which is being managed and implemented by the Department of Rural Development, the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development with supports from World Bank, meeting for "Consultation on township selection in Kachin State which will get benefit from the project" was celebrated at City Hall, Myitkyina on 14 May, 2015. Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development, Chief Minister of Kachin State and over 300 participants including responsible people from concerned department in Kachin State, representatives from World Bank and responsible people from the Department of Rural Department (Head office) and responsible persons from NGOs and political parties, Kachin State Parliament members, media and other invited parties attended the meeting.
U Alay Par,Minister of Development Affairs of Kachin State and U Tin Ngwe, Deputy Minister from Ministry of Livestocks, Fisheries and Rural Development delivered the speech at first and Mr.ABDOULAYE, Country Manager who is the representative from World Bank, responsible person of the Department of Rural Development explained about the project briefly. Then the other activities were conducted viz. attendees asked their desired questions; the Department of Rural Development explained selection criteria; attendees conducted group discussion and submitted proposed township; officer in charge made group discussion; and the results were presented based on discussed facts.
The three most priority townships to have the project implemented in , Kachin State are Mogaung, Injangyang and Puta-O according to the choice of the attendees. The townships lists would be submitted to Foreign Aids Management Central Committee after getting comments from the Chief Minister of Kachin State. If the Central Committee has confirmed, it will be submitted to World Bank to get recommendation for no objection with the list. If the list was confirmed step by step, Community Driven Development Project would be implemented.
