Consultation meeting on one Township selection for third year CDD Project in Bago Division was held at the City Hall of Bago on 11 Nov 2014. The project is implemented by the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development and funded by the World Bank.

U Tin Soe (Minister for Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Breeding), Chairman of the Region or State Hluttaw, representatives from the World Bank and responsible officers from Department of Rural Development (Head office), responsible officers from relevant government departments of Bago Division, Congress Representatives, responsible officers from Non-Government Organizations, Political Parties, media and other invitees were in attendances.

At the meeting, U Win Tin (Chairman of the Bago Region Hluttaw) gave a welcome speech; U Tin Soe (Minister for Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Breeding) gave an opening speech. After that, U Myint Oo (Deputy Director General for the Department of Rural Development) and Mr. Nikolas Myint (Country Office Manager from the World Bank) gave an introduction speech and U Hla Khaing (Deputy Director for the Department of Rural Development) explained an overview of the project and criteria set for township selection. After that, attendees raised the queries, made discussion in 10 separated groups to choose relevant townships, explained the reasons of township selection by a representative of each group, calculated the scores for the selected townships and submitted the results.

According to the selection by the attendees, the townships which are eligible to benefit from projects are listed below from high priority to low priority.

• Moe Nyo Township
• Kyauk Gyi Township
• Pan Taung Township
• Thae Kone Township
